First books of summer

At the end of the semester, I read Angels & Demons, which was very exciting, and I liked it even more than the Da Vinci Code, probably because it was about science. I'm looking forward to seeing the new movie even though the movies are never as good as the books. I'm waiting on my best friend to finish reading it so we can go together, but she's reading another book at the moment so I might have to wait quite a while, but that's okay. She's reading this random book we found at Booksamillion, Nature Girl, that's originally from a library in Chantilly, VA. I read the front flap and told her she had to buy it because it sounded like the most ridiculous story I had ever heard, and so far it has lived up to those expectations.

The next book I read was I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti. It was interesting. It wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped it would be, but it was still pretty good. It's pretty much about this woman of Italian heritage who ventures into relationships, and she tells the stories of the men she's dated and the food she's cooked for them (including recipes). I thought it was a really neat template for a book, but the stories weren't quite as good as I had hoped they would be, but I guess since it's based on her real life, the stories couldn't be too outrageous. Many of the recipes, however, looked great, and I'm going to have to try some of them soon.

Now I'm working on a book called The Painter from Shanghai. It's about a painter who moved from China as the Communist movement was taking hold. I haven't gotten very far in it yet, but when I do, I'll post the updates.
